Visitors to the Home Living Expo will be able to view daily demonstrations by master painters and discuss their painting and decorating plans with industry professionals.
John Koenders, President of the Master Painters, Decorators and Signwriters’ Association of SA, said people embarking on building or renovation projects should make informed decisions, particularly about the choice of paint.
“Essentially, people need to know what paint to buy, how many coats to apply, and whether it meets Australian Industry Standards,” he said.
“People coming to our display at site 121 in the Jubilee Pavilion will be able to meet a master painter and industry representatives from Dulux to discuss current trends and the correct paint system to suit particular requirements.”
Daily painting demonstrations will be presented at 11.15am and 2.15pm. The emphasis will be to promote paints that are low in volatile organic compounds, or VOCs. These compounds are largely responsible for the strong scent of paint, which can affect people with asthma or allergies.
“Low VOCs are an environmentally-friendly paint choice, and Master Painters Australia are the leaders in sustainable painting practices,” John said. “Visitors to our stand in the Jubilee Pavilion will gain access to Enviropainters – Master Painter members who have completed intensive training in this area.
“People engaging a master painter have the surety of knowing that the member will meet strict guidelines and follow our code of ethics.
“They can be assured that the master painter will have all relevant insurances and licensing, provide a written quote and deliver a professional painting solution.”
